The Elders of West Zion are inviting the congregation to devote the days of February 2 through to March 12, 2020 to a time of concentrated and focused prayer.

This link CALENDAR will take you to the current calendar for this season of prayer.  You can follow along during these 40 Days and pray for the suggested items.  The Elders are also asking for people to sign up for a specific day on the calendar to pray and fast for the items listed.

40 Days of Prayer in 2020

Day 1 - February 2Prayer

  • Isaiah 43:19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

  • Matthew 5:24 Leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift.

  • Ephesians 6:1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
  • Ephesians 6:4 Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.

  • 2 Chronicles 7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

  • 1 Corinthians 12:24 while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has put the body together, giving greater honor to the parts that lacked it, so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.

 Day 31 – March 3 - Church Unity

  • 1 Corinthians 1:10 I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.

 Day 32 – March 4 – Holy Spirit’s leading

  • Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

  • Galatians 5:13 [ Life by the Spirit] You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love
  • Philippians 2:14 Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky 16 as you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain.  Day 38 – March 10 – Spiritual Insight & Wisdom for West Zion

  • Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

 Day 39 – March 11 – Schools & those in post secondary education

  • 1 Peter 1:13: Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
  • Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
